Enerdata contributes to the elaboration of Morocco's long-term low greenhouse gas emission development strategy

The Paris Agreement (Article 4.19) invites countries to adopt long-term low emission development strategies (LT-LEDS). The 2050 Pathways Platform, a multi-stakeholder initiative launched at COP22 in Marrakech, aims to support countries in developing such strategies. In this framework, the platform supports Morocco's effort to build its LT-LEDS, in cooperation with the Moroccan Department of the Environment.

Enerdata’s study, financed by the 2050 Pathways Platform, will focus in particular on a series of sectoral and thematic consultations (electricity, industry, transport, construction, agriculture, waste and forests) with the main driving forces of the Moroccan economy and society. It will lead to a document presenting Morocco's approach to low-carbon development by 2050 and the key issues to be resolved in order to build a robust transition strategy after 2020.
