Enerdata has been selected by the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition to analyse the impacts, for individual Member States and France especially, of the newly proposed 55% GHG emissions reduction target at the EU level.
The study follows the European Commission’s communication, which suggests to reduce GHG emissions in the EU by 55% in 2030 compared to 1990, and its corresponding Impact Assessment. Using our POLES-Enerdata model, we are preparing a set of scenarios to analyse the implications of this reinforced European target on the French climate ambition. The quantified results will therefore inform the DGEC (Directorate General of Energy and Climate) in view of the upcoming negotiations.
This work was kicked-off in November 2020 and will be concluded by mid-January 2021. It mainly involves Enerdata’s Global Energy Forecasting department.
