Seplat produces first gas from 3.1 bcm/year ANOH gas plant (Nigeria)

Seplat, a Nigerian independent oil and gas company, has announced that the 300 mcf/d (3.1 bcm/yearANOH gas project, located in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State (Nigeria), has achieved first gas (Seplat press release, 20/01/2026). Following completion of the 11km Indorama gas export pipeline and receipt of regulatory approval from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), it started supplying gas to Indorama, a petrochemical company.

Since first gas, wet gas production has been stabilising, reaching 40-52 mcf/d (1.1-1.5 mcm/d), while gas condensate production, at 2-2.5 kboe/d, should increase with gas production as plant ramps up to design capacity. Preparations are underway to sell processed gas to the Nigeria LNG (NLNG), supporting the project to further scale production towards full design capacity of 300 mcf/d (3.1 bcm/year).

The project is owned and operated by ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), a joint venture between Seplat and the NGIC (Nigeria Gas Infrastructure Company), an affiliate of the state-owned oil company Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) focused on gas pipeline and related infrastructure. The plant, which has been built to operate with zero routine flares, comprises two 150 mcf/d (1.6 bcm/year) gas processing units, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) recovery units, condensate stabilisation units, a 16 MW power plant and other supporting facilities.

The ANOH gas plant taps into an estimated 4.6 tcf (130 bcm) of condensate-rich gas across the unitised OML 53 and OML 21 fields. Seplat’s share of proved and probable reserves in the unitised field was 0.8 tcf (22.6 bcm) at the end of 2024.
