Rongke Power completes 200 MW/1 GWh vanadium flow battery in China

The Chinese technology provider Rongke Power has started operations of its 200 MW/1 GWh Jimusaer vanadium flow battery in north-western China (Rongke Power press release, 31/12/2025). The project represents, according to Rongke Power, one of the world’s largest projects of its kind. It is designed for intensive daily cycling to support large-scale renewable energy integration by more than 230 GWh/year. The project “demonstrates the capability of vanadium flow battery technology to perform reliably at unprecedented scale”.

Rongke Power is a leader in vanadium flow battery technology, deploying over 3.5 GWh of these systems worldwide.
