Neoen Australia has submitted its 3,200 MWh Bondo wind-plus-storage project in New South Wales (NSW) (Australia) for federal environmental assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. The proposal encompasses up to 164 wind turbine generators with a combined generating capacity of around 1.2 GW, paired with two 400 MW/1,600 MWh BESS.
The project is located predominantly within State forest land and plantations in southern NSW. It will be developed within five years, with construction lasting 2 to 4 years per stage. The operational life of the wind farm would be approximately 30 years.
