The US infrastructure company Tallgrass and Mitsubishi Power Americas have announced progress on Phase 1 of Tallgrass’ Cheyenne Power Hub in southeast Wyoming (United States) (Mitsubishi Power Americas press release, 15/05/2026). Mitsubishi Power Americas will deliver the first two M501JAC gas turbines with a combined capacity of around 1,150 MW for the project as of July 2026.
The USD7bn Cheyenne Power Hub will burn natural gas supplied through Tallgrass' Rockies Express Pipeline, to supply a large-scale data center within the Switchgrass Industrial Park. Located near Tallgrass’ Trailblazer carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) project, it will also be connected to the power grid to support future renewable integration.
