The Finnish technology company Merus Power and the Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement regarding the delivery of approximately 3 GWh of BESS solutions to Northern Europe (Merus Power press release, 03/06/2026).
The two companies aim to address the rising need for flexibility in the power systems of Northern Europe and the increased use of renewable energy. They have been collaborating since 2023 and Merus Power has already delivered around 500 MWh of battery energy storage solutions using CATL’s battery technology to Northern Europe.
