Iberdrola reaches a total installed capacity of 58 GW in 2025

The Spanish energy group Iberdrola has presented its 2025 results, reporting it installed over 2.7 GW of new power generation and storage capacity during the year, with an additional 4.7 GW under construction and more than 9 GW of new projects on its pipeline until 2028 (Iberdrola press release, 25/02/2026).

Iberdrola's global installed capacity increased by 3% to 58 GW in 2025 (+42 GW since 2001), thanks to solar and wind installations, and its total power generation rose by 2% to 129 TWh. In Spain, the group's capacity increased by 1% to over 32 GW thanks to solar and batteries additions, and its power generation grew by 4% to nearly 65 TWh (+8% for renewables and +25% for CCGT generation). In 2025, the company invested a total of EUR14.5bn, of which 60% was focused on the United States and the United Kingdom, particularly in network infrastructure. EUR5.3bn was invested in renewable power generation and customers.

Iberdrola has also announced that it has already sold 100% of its electricity production for 2026 and proclaimed itself as the “largest seller of PPA’s in Europe.”  In the United States and Brazil, Iberdrola acquired minority shares on Avangrid and Neoenergia, respectively.
