ENI will explore Togo's offshore

Togo's potential in offshore oil reserves are attracting the major company ENI. Togo has been trying to convince major oil companies to explore its offshore for six years, since Hunt (USA) had pulled out the task after drilling two wells in 2006. Thus, the Energy Ministry divided the offshore into two blocks: block 1, covering areas with depths under 500 meters and block 2, covering deep and ultra deep offshore. ENI finally signed two Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) covering the country’s offshore area, sanctioning Eni's entry in Togo. The signing of these contracts will allow ENI to operate Block 1 and Block 2 with 100% participation interest and immediately perform all studies and interpretation to thoroughly evaluate the two blocks, located in the Dahomey Basin, a still scarcely explored basin bordered to the west by the analogous Tano basin where major discoveries have been made previously.
