Enery commissions a 150 MW/602 MWh BESS in Bulgaria

Enery has successfully commissioned the 150 MW/ 602 MWh Nova Zagora BESS in Bulgaria, providing grid stability and enabling the integration of renewable energy sources (Enery press release, 06/05/2026). Enery secured a green financing package from DSK Bank for sustainable energy infrastructure. The company has also signed a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with international energy company Vitol. The four-hour storage system is connected to an adjacent 33/110 kV substation via a 150 MVA unit of 30 transformer stations.

In neighbouring Romania, Enery is building the Ogrezeni hybrid power plant including 761 MW of solar power and a 534 MW/1 GWh BESS.
