Congo inaugurates Wing Wah's and SNPC's 5 mcm/day (1.8 bcm/year) gas plant

The President of the Republic of Congo has inaugurated the associated gas valorisation plant of the Banga-Kayo field, located in the Tchamba Nzassi sub-prefecture (Congo). Implemented by the Chinese company Wing Wah Exploration and Production Pétrolière, in partnership with the Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC), the associated gas valorisation plant is a complete system comprising, among other components, processing, compression, separation, liquefaction, storage, logistics units, and all the infrastructure required to transform gas into energy and industrial products. The project includes the production of dry gas, propane, butane, as well as a significant volume of LNG destined for both domestic and international markets.

“At full capacity, we will process 5 million cubic meters of associated gas per day, producing more than 219,000 tonnes of propane, 151,000 tonnes of butane, LNG, as well as a substantial amount of dry gas” stated the Vice President of Wing Wah E&P Pétrolière, adding that the project is being implemented in three phases, the first in 2024, the second in 2025, and the third in 2026.

A subsidiary of the Chinese group Southernpec, Wing Wah aims to reach 500,000 boe/d by 2030.
