AGEL commissions 3.37 GWh of BESS at Khavda, Gujarat (India)

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the renewable arm of the Indian conglomerate Adani, has commissioned a cumulative 3.37 GWh BESS at Khavda, Gujarat (north-western India) (AGEL press release, 26/05/2025). The deployment includes the 1.37 GWh capacity commissioned in March 2026, taking AGEL’s total operational BESS capacity at Khavda to 3.37 GWh. The project was delivered within just 10 months of commencement of on-site construction.

At Khavda, AGEL is currently building a 30 GW solar project, which should be fully operational by 2029. AGEL has already installed cumulative capacity of 9.9 GW  at the site. The company plans to add over 10 GWh of battery storage capacity in FY27 and scale this to 50 GWh over the next five years.
