Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), a subsidiary of the US power utility AEP, has requested approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) to build a 1,520 MW gas-fired CCGT power project at its Rockport site in Indiana (United States). The company, which expects electricity demand in its service area to more than double by the early 2030s, aims to secure approval from the IURC in early 2027, to start construction in 2027, and to commission the proposed Rockport Energy Center in the summer of 2030.
