400 MW/2.4 GWh Bunyip North BESS project moves forward in Australia

RES Australia's 400 MW/2,400 MWh Bunyip North BESS project in Victoria (Australia) has passed a regulatory milestone, clearing the federal environmental assessment process under Australia’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act (Energy Storage News, 01/06/2026).

The project, which will be located within the Cardinia Shire Local Government Area, was determined not to require further assessment through the federal assessment process and will continue to progress through Victoria's state and local planning processes.
