Guillaume REQUIN, Project Manager in Clean Technologies and Kuriachan JOSE, Account Manager, presented "Modelling the Future of ASEAN Grids: Innovative Technologies for Enhanced System Efficiency" at ADB’s Asia Clean Energy Forum- 2026
They explored how innovative grid technologies such as advanced conductors, transmission storage, and Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) can modernise power systems and expand network capacity across the ASEAN region. Leveraging Enerdata’s power market expertise, energy statistics, and modelling tools, our expert presented short- and long-term perspectives, focusing on potential efficiency and capacity gains for the energy systems of Vietnam, Indonesia, or the Philippines. The presentation included findings from our demand and capacity modelling tools for ASEAN countries, alongside lessons from European benchmarks in flexibility markets and cross-border synchronisation, to provide a comparative roadmap for the region.
