Study "Simulation of GHG emissions in the energy sector in Tunisia by 2050" for ANME

Enerdata continues its collaboration with the Tunisian National Agency for Energy Management (ANME). We are starting a new study funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of the project "Support for carbon pricing for NDC* implementation and low-carbon transition".

The main objective of the study is to develop a new trajectory for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the energy sector for Tunisia by 2030 and 2050. The study also includes a section on capacity building for Tunisian actors on methodological aspects related to energy and GHG modelling.

The study was launched during a workshop held on 28 November 2019 in Tunis. This workshop, attended by about fifty representatives of the energy sector and the main institutions in Tunisia, was dedicated to the topic of simulating greenhouse gas emissions in the energy sector.

The results of the study, expected in 2020, will be used by Tunisian actors to develop their national low-carbon strategy in the energy sector and to update their NDC.
