Study on energy efficiency in the industry sector in Indonesia

This project, funded by the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) and AFD, the French development agency, aims at determining a long-term low-carbon and resilient development strategy in the industry sector.

Our consortium, composed of EY (lead), Enerdata, Petroraya (a consulting firm in Indonesia) and Aris Nugrahanto (an indonesian industry expert affiliated to UNIDO), will provide technical assistance with the modelling of emissions reduction for a selection of emissions intensive industry sectors.

The specific objectives of the project are :

  • the capability building of local agencies to assess the potential and impact of mitigation strategies and EE action plans in the industry sector,
  • the development of a modelling tool that will rely on existing databases maintained by different ministries and departments, and
  • the modelling of several mitigation scenarios based on energy efficiency strategies, actions plans, and recommendations for regulatory framework following a capacity building approach.
