Evaluating clean energy transition in the Greater Horn of Africa countries until 2030

In partnership with the International Energy Agency, Enerdata will produce and analyse energy and emissions scenarios on the Horn of Africa region until 2030, to support decision-makers in the impact assessment of additional energy policies in the region.

The focus will be on the Intergovernmental Authority on Development countries (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda), facing limited access to energy and many socio-economic and climatic challenges.

The EnerNEO model will be used to provide a Stated Policies Scenario and a Sustainable Development Scenario, which will feed into a new publication, the report Clean Energy Transitions in the Greater Horn of Africa, to be published by the IEA in autumn 2022.
