EnerNEO development for Pakistan’s NDCs moves forward

We are currently enhancing our EnerNEO model, which the Government of Pakistan will use to develop its climate policy and define its NDCs.

The current work is in partnership with the German Society for International Cooperation (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, or GIZ).

The first phase of EnerNEO development began in 2017, financed by the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement or AFD), and the next phase, also in collaboration with AFD, could start in early 2019. This new phase would aim to design a user-friendly tool covering complete energy- and GHG-emissions trajectories for Pakistan, including agriculture, land use and forest emissions. This would be something that has never been done before in the country.
