Zephyr plans a 1.4 GW offshore wind project in Sweden

The Swedish subsidiary of the Norwegian wind power company Zephyr has launched a consultation on a 1,400 MW offshore wind project that would be located off the west coast of Sweden, about 40 km northwest of Gothenburg. The project, named Poseidon, will be split in two zones – north and south – and includes between 61 and 94 turbines with total heights of 260 metres to 340 metres. The company plans to seek approval for the project in 2022 and to commission it around 2031. The project would generate around 5.5 TWh/year.

In addition, Enlight Renewable Energy and Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund have reached financial close on the 372 MW Björnberget onshore wind project in Sweden after completing a €300m financing with three lenders: DekaBank, KfW IPEX-Bank and the Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK). Commissioning is scheduled by the end of 2022.
