Younan Company plans 880 MW solar PV and 460 MW BESS project in California (US)

The US private equity firm Younan Company plans to develop an 880 MWdc (700 MWac) solar PV project paired with a 460 MW BESS in California (United States). The Soleil Renewable Energy project has already reached critical development milestones, including land acquisition and advancement in the interconnection process with the California Independent System Operator. Pending approval, construction is expected to begin within the next 18 months, with commercial operation by mid-2028. 

The Soleil facility is projected to to produce approximately 2 TWh/year of electricity. California currently hosts over 54 GW of installed solar PV capacity, with an additional 22 GW expected over the next five years.
