Woodside completes Sangomar FPSO construction phase (Senegal)

Woodside Energy has reached a new milestone for its Sangomar Field Development Phase 1 project in Senegal, as the Australian group has completed the construction phase for the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility that will be deployed at the Sangomar field offshore Senegal. The Sangomar Field Development Phase 1, Senegal's first offshore oil project, is estimated to hold 230 Mboe of crude oil. It is currently 70% complete and should enter into production in late 2023. The FPSO will have the capacity to produce 100,000 bbl/d of crude oil.

The Sangomar field (formerly SNE field) is developed by the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore joint venture, comprising of Woodside (operator) and Société des Pétroles du Sénégal (PETROSEN). Woodside owns 82% of the Sangomar exploitation area and 90% of the remaining RSSD evaluation area, after having taken over Cairn Energy's and FAR's stakes.
