The renewable power company Voltalia has signed a power sales agreement (PPA) with Uzbekistan state-owned company JSC Uzenergosotish for its 526 MW hybrid project in Uzbekistan. The Artemisya project, located in the Bukhara region, combines 126 MW of solar energy, 300 MW of wind power, and 100 MW/200 MWh of battery storage and is expected to provide enough power a population of about 2.5 million and to avoid the emission of 598 ktCO2/year. The PPA covers 25 years for solar and wind energy and 15 years for storage to ensure the long-term profitability and financial viability of the project. The project is scheduled to start construction works in the first quarter of 2026 for its solar and storage facilities, while the wind assets are planned for the third quarter of 2026.
Voltalia has also signed two new cooperation agreements with the Uzbek Government, one for the 500 MW/1GWh Turan Storage storage project, and another for a 500 kW agrivoltaïc pilot project in the Tashkent region scheduled to start on August 2025.
