The Victorian government in Australia has authorized four new energy initiatives worth a total AUD2.4bn (USD1.71bn) under its Development Facilitation Program (DFP), totalling 1,390 MW of BESS capacity. The approved projects are:
- Tag Energy's 1 GW/4 GWh Morwell BESS, expected to reach financial close by the end of 2027 and be operational in late 2029;
- Pacific Green's 250 MW/500 MWh Nine Mile BESS, later to be upgraded to 1 GW/4 GWh, expected no earlier than late 2026;
- Synergy Wind's Gelliondale Wind Farm BESS, including 80 MW of wind and a 40 MW BESS (duration not specified);
- Pacific Partnership's 100 MW Chivers Road BESS at the existing 130 MW Glenrowan solar park.
