Vestavind Offshore preselects four bidders for the Norway's first offshore wind farm

Vestavind Offshore has selected four strong industrial players for the final round of the development of Norway’s first and so far only large scale offshore wind farm project. Vestavind Offshore announced in September 2010 a tender for the development of a new industrial concept for this wind farm at Sandøy on the north west coast of Norway (38-80 turbines). The assignment should include complete design of substructure, inshore assembly of substructure, tower, nacelle and blades and offshore installation of same. After a thorough assessment Vestavind Offshore now is left with four strong groups that in the coming 6 months will further develop their solutions. These are:

- Reinertsen AS (Norway) in cooperation with Vattenfall (Sweden)

- Technip (France)

- ViciVentus AS (Norway), a grouping consisting of AF Gruppen AS, Lyse AS and Dr. Techn. Olav Olsen AS

- Westcon AS (Norway), in cooperation with amongst Kruse Smith AS, Norconsult AS and Eide Marine Services AS.
