The US-based LNG project developer Venture Global and Japan’s Mitsui & Co have announced the execution of a new long-term LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA). Under the terms of the agreement, Mitsui will purchase 1 Mt/year of LNG from Venture Global for 20 years, starting in 2029 (Venture Global press release, 11/11/2025).
- This marks Venture Global’s third long-term agreement with a Japanese buyer, following deals signed with JERA in 2023 and INPEX in 2022.
- With the Mitsui agreement, Venture Global has now secured a total of 6.75 Mt/year in long-term LNG contracts for 2025.
Earlier in November 2025, Venture Global also signed new 20-year supply agreements with Spain’s Naturgy and Greece’s Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade, adding to contracts with Petronas, SEFE Energy, and Eni.
