Venture Global submits 30 Mt/year Plaquemines LNG Expansion Project to US FERC

The US LNG project developer Venture Global LNG has submitted to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) its application for its Plaquemines LNG brownfield expansion project in Louisiana (United States) (Venture Global press release, 17/11/2025). The company has also filed with the US Department of Energy (DOE) for the export authorizations associated with this expansion.

The Plaquemines LNG started production in December 2024, with a nameplate capacity of 20 Mt/year and a peak capacity of nearly 28 Mt/year. Its 30 Mt/year peak expansion is planned to be developed in three phases to add a total of 32 modular liquefaction trains. Once completed, the complex should have a total peak production capacity of over 58 Mt/year.
