Venture Global has entered into power and grid frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes Energy Services for up to 16 new power island units rated 720 MW each with a combined capacity of about 11.5 GW and its associated equipment to expand its grid-independent power network in the United States (Venture Global press release, 15/10/2026). The agreements allow the company to enter future definitive reservation agreements to reserve manufacturing capacity over time.
The power islands are based on combined-cycle gas turbines and related equipment, in configurations consistent with Venture Global’s existing power infrastructure. The turbine models were not specified. The first permit applications have already been filed, and the first power island purchase order is expected by the end of 2026.
The expansion is expected to support up to 10 GW of new compute capacity at company-owned or controlled sites by the end of 2034, subject to customer commitments, market demand and other commercial conditions. The sites for the new power islands were not named, and no investment value or customers were disclosed.
Venture Global already has six power islands ordered, under construction or operating, totalling about 4.5 GW of modular gas-fired generation. Its LNG projects (Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG and CP2 LNG) are in Louisiana, with over 100 Mt/year in production, construction or development.
