Venture Global signs 1.5 Mt/year LNG offtake deal with Vitol (US)

The US LNG producer and exporter Venture Global has entered into a new binding LNG purchase agreement with the global energy and commodities company Vitol for the supply of approximately 1.5 Mt/year (Venture Global press release, 23/03/2026). Under the terms of the agreement, Venture Global will supply US LNG to Vitol over a period of five years, starting in 2026.

Earlier in March, Venture Global reached a final investment decision (FID) and secured USD8.6bn in project financing for the second phase of its 29 Mt/year CP2 LNG project (KEI, 17/03/2026).

This new agreement forms part of a series of contracts recently signed by Venture Global. The company and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace (a subsidiary of Hanwha Group) signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the supply of 1.5 Mt/year of US LNG from Venture Global over a 20-year period starting in 2030. In addition, the company has signed a binding agreement with Swiss trader Trafigura for the purchase of approximately 0.5 Mt/year of US LNG for a duration of 5 years, beginning in 2026.

Venture Global currently holds more than 100 Mt/year of LNG capacity under production, construction, or development across the United States.
