Venture Global LNG has reached financial close for its proposed 10 Mt/year Calcasieu Pass LNG project and associated TransCameron gas pipeline in Cameron Parish, Louisiana (United States). The project will require a total investment of US$5.8bn and secured a US$1.3bn equity investment from Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners.
The liquefaction project will consist of nine trains of 1.2 Mt/year each, for a total capacity of 10 Mt/year. It has been fully permitted and received FERC authorization and Non-FTA export authorization from the US Department of Energy. Fullsite construction started in February 2019 and the project is expected to be commissioned in 2022. Several supply and purchase agreement (SPAs) for the project have been signed with Shell, BP, Edison, Galp Energia, Repsol and PGNiG.
Venture Global LNG is also developing the 20 Mt/year Plaquemines LNG project and the 20 Mt/yearDelta LNG project, both in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
