A US$404m receiving terminal will be built for Turk Stream (Turkey)

The services company Petrofac has been awarded a €340m (US$404m) Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by South Stream Transport B.V., a wholly owned affiliate of Gazprom. It will be responsible for the development of onshore pipelines and a gas receiving terminal near (Kıyıköy, Turkey) under the framework of the Turk Stream project.

The terminal is expected to be ready for commercial operations in December 2019 and will receive 31.5 bcm/year of natural gas, conveyed through the Turk Stream pipeline from the Anapa compressor station in Russia.

In May 2017, Gazprom started the construction of the offshore section of the TurkStream gas pipeline project; which will consist of two strings of 15.75 bcm/year each (total capacity of 31.5 bcm/year), delivering Russian gas to Turkey and its European neighbours. The first string of the gas pipeline is intended for Turkish consumers, while the second string will deliver gas to southern and southeastern Europe.
