The United States supports SMRs deployment in Poland

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (US EXIM) and the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) could provide up to US$4bn to support the development a potential project in Poland to deploy BWRX-300 small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) designed by GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy. The project would be implemented by Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE), a joint-venture between PKN Orlen and Synthos. The Letter of Intent signed by US EXIM and OSGE states that US$3bn will be used to fund the project, while the DFC could commit up to US$1bn to develop the first two two power plants with BWRX-300 reactors. US EXIM has also authorised a loan to OSGE for pre-project engineering services associated with potential deployment of a GE-Hitachi BWRX-300 small modular nuclear reactor in Poland.
