UK's Crown Estate reaches agreements on wind projects in the UK

The Crown Estate has reached agreements with offshore wind project developers ScottishPower Renewables (Iberdrola group), Vattenfall and DONG Energy, which have reconfigured or identified new projects within their respective Round 3 offshore wind development zones.

Danish energy group DONG Energy has concluded an appraisal process to reconfigure its Hornsea Zone projects, after the acquisition of the stakes held by Mainstream Renewable Power and Siemens Financial Services in 2015: DONG Energy will develop the 1.2 GW Hornsea Project One; Hornsea Project Two could accommodate up to 1.8 GW (planning consent decision for the project expected later in 2016), Hornsea Project Three 1 to 2 GW and Hornsea Project Four up to 1 GW.

In addition, the Crown Estate has reached agreements with ScottishPower Renewables and Vattenfall, which decided in August 2015 to independently take forward projects within the East Anglia Zone. ScottishPower will develop the 714 MW East Anglia ONE project, along with East Anglia THREE (under development, with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW) and two new projects: East Anglia TWO (up to 800 MW) and East Anglia ONE North (up to 800 MW). Vattenfall will take forward two projects in the northern part of the previous East Anglia zone area, with a target capacity of 1.8 GW each.
