Centrica (United Kingdom) has released its 2021 results, posting a £954m (€1.1bn) profit, after a £362m (€433m) loss in 2020. Centrica Business Solutions supplied 22.3 TWh of gas and electricity in 2021 (+14% compared to 2020). The group's nuclear power generation declined by 9% to 8.3 TWh due to a number of outages across the fleet, and its thermal power generation stood at 2.8 TWh. Centrica's renewable capacity under management reached 11.7 GW (+9%), with the commissioning of the 950 MW Moray East offshore wind park in Scotland (UK).
The group owns British Gas Energy (7.3 m residential customers and 0.5 m small business customer sites, +5% and +1%, respectively, in 2021), British Gas Services & Solutions (3.4 m customers, -4%) in the United Kingdom and Bord Gáis Energy (0.5 m customers, -1%) in Ireland.
