Türkiye’s total installed electricity capacity rose to 122.5 GW by the end of December 2025, according to the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry (Anadolu Agency, 22/01/2026).
Renewable energy accounted for 76.3 GW, or 62.3% of the country’s total installed capacity, the ministry said. By the end of 2025, solar power reached 25.1 GW (20.5% of total capacity) and wind power reached 14.8 GW (12.1%). “Our total installed solar and wind capacity has approached 40 GW. We have already achieved one-third of our 120 GW target for solar and wind,” the ministry said.
Emphasizing generation rather than capacity, the ministry noted that in 2025:
- Solar power accounted for a record 10.5% of electricity generation
- Wind power reached an all-time high of 10.7%
Together, wind and solar contributed more than one-fifth of Türkiye’s total power generation in 2025. Additionally, 56.7% of total electricity generation came from domestic and renewable resources.
