Transneft will start YUG oil product pipeline in 2016 (Russia)

Transneft, the Russian oil transportation company, plans to commission the "YUG" pipeline project in Southern Russia in 2016-2017. The Syzran'-Saratov-Volgograd-Novorossiysk oil product pipeline will have a capacity of 8.7 Mt/year.

Transneft is also developing the expansion of the SEVER pipeline (Northern Russia), which would increase the transportation system from 8.5 Mt/year to 12 Mt/year (and 15 Mt/year at a later stage). The SEVER expansion could be completed by 2015.

Moreover, to provide the Moscow Region with oil products (diesel fuel, gasoline, and naphtha), NK Rosneft and Lukoil Companies are considering a new oil product pipeline from Kstovo to Nagornaya midpoint pump station with a capacity of 3.8 Mt/year; building of a linear part of 465 km length, reconstructing three midpoint pump stations, and building of a reservoir tank of 120 000 m3 volume will be required.
