TotalEnergies signs agreement in Angola to develop 2 oil blocks

The National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), which oversees the oil and gas sector in Angola, TotalEnergies and the Angolan national oil company Sonangol have signed a heads of agreement (HoA) related to the future development of the Cameia and Golfinho fields, located on Blocks 20 and 21 in the Kwanza basin, paving the way for a  final investment decision expected in 2023, after partners and authorities’ approval. The two blocks could start producing in late 2026-early 2027 and are expected to have an output of between 70 kb/d and 100 kb/d.

This future development project on Blocks 20 and 21, located around 150 km southwest of Luanda, will include an FPSO connected to a subsea network. The design of this new project comprises CCGT power generation. TotalEnergies (operator) holds an 80% interest in each block, while Sonangol the remaining 20%.
