TotalEnergies will supply 1 GW of solar power to Google in Texas (US)

TotalEnergies has signed two long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Google to deliver up to 1 GW of solar capacity over 15 years to power data centres in Texas (United States) (TotalEnergies press release, 09/02/2026). Power will be supplied from the company’s 805 MW Wichita and 195 MW Mustang Creek solar projects in Texas, which are expected to start construction works in the second quarter of 2026. TotalEnergies has also signed a separate 1.2 GW PPA with Clearway to support Google’s data centres across the ERCOT (Texas), PJM (Northeast), and SPP (Central) markets. Clearway is a US-based renewables company 50% owned by TotalEnergies.

According to ReNews (06/02/2026), the company is also seeking up to USD250m from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance its 1 GW Mirny onshore wind project in Kazakhstan. The project is being developed in partnership with KazMunayGas (20%) and Samruk-Kazyna (20%), and will comprise 140 turbines and a 300 MW/600 MWh BESS in the Zhambyl region (southeast Kazakhstan), in addition to the transmission infrastructure required to connect the project to the grid. The project is expected to start commercial operations by 2028.
