TotalEnergies' hydrocarbon output in Africa declined by 15% in 2021

TotalEnergies has released its 2021 preliminary results, posting a net income of US$16bn (€14bn). The company's hydrocarbon production declined by 2% to 2,819 kboe/d, with 1,274 kb/d of liquids (-2%) and 1,545 kb/d of gas (-2%). Most of the hydrocarbon production took place in Europe and Central Asia (1,022 kboe/d, -2%), followed by Middle East and North Africa (667 kboe/d, +7%) and Africa (532 kboe/d, -15%). TotalEnergies sold 42 Mt of LNG (+10%), 101.2 TWh of gas (+6%) and 56.6 TWh of electricity (+20%). TotalEnergies' installed capacity reached 10.3 GW with 5.1 GW of renewables at the end of 2021, including 4.7 GW in India and 1.2 GW in France. Finally, the group's refinery throughput declined by 9% to 1,180 kb/d, including 190 kb/d in France (-22%). Petroleum products sales increased by 5% to 3,581 kb/d, including 1,582 kb/d in Europe (stable).
