TotalEnergies and KKR add 700 MW of solar assets to their JV in the US

French energy group TotalEnergies and the global investment firm KKR have expanded their 50:50 joint venture in the United States through the addition of a 700 MW renewable energy portfolio (TotalEnergies press release, 12/10/2026).

The portfolio comprises three utility-scale solar assets in Texas and Ohio which are currently under development and are scheduled to reach operational status by the first quarter of 2027. The output from these facilities has already been sold to third parties or is planned for sale marketed by TotalEnergies.

The assets were contributed by TotalEnergies and will be jointly owned by the partners under the existing venture structure, while their operation will be held by TotalEnergies.

The JV was created in the US in September 2025 and currently holds a 1.4 GW portfolio.
