TotalEnergies and Corio JV plan a 1.3 GW wind project off New Jersey (US)

Attentive Energy, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Corio Generation, has submitted a proposal to supply the US State of New Jersey with up to 1,342 MW of offshore wind energy through its Attentive Energy Two project. The proposal was submitted to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for its third offshore wind solicitation. If awarded, the project is expected to generate enough power to supply more than 600,000 US households and will prevent the emission of 1.3 MtCO2/year. It would be located 68 km east of Seaside Heights, off the coast of New Jersey.

The State of New Jersey plans to build 11 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040 and to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050. At the federal level, the United States aims for 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and 15 GW of floating offshore wind capacity by 2035 (only 42 MW were operational at the end of 2022).
