EDEN Renewables India, the equally-owned joint venture between EDF Renewables and Total Eren, has been awarded three solar projects with a total capacity of 1,350 MWp in Rajasthan, in Northern India. Two 450 MWp solar projects were awarded to EDEN Renewables India during the last tenders organised by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI VIII and SECI IX). In addition, the company won a 450 MWp solar PV project during the last tender organised by the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), for which a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed with NHPC at the end of August 2020. Constructions are due to start during the first semester of 2021 and commissioning are expected in early 2022.
EDEN Renewables already has a portfolio of 2,200 MW of projects under development, under construction and operational in the states of Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. In 2019, the joint venture signed 25-year PPAs for 4 solar power projects totalling 716 MWp in northern India, including 450 MWp awarded under the "SECI III" tender that entered into construction in April 2020 and should be commissioned in the first half of 2021.
