According to Energy Storage News, three large energy storage projects with a combined capacity of 950 MW/3,800 MWh have recently progressed under Australia’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
Spark Renewables’ Dinawan solar+storage project in New South Wales, including a 1 GW solar park and a 300 MW/1.2 GWh BESS in the South-West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), has secured approval.
In addition, two projects located in Victoria have entered the EPBC process, namely the 400 MW/1.6 GWh Winton Renewable Energy Stability and Storage Terminal (WRESST) in Glenrowan, and Potentia's 250 MW/1 GWh Mologa Solar Hybrid project in the Loddon Shire.
