Three BESS projects (325 MW/1.2 GWh) submitted for approval in Australia

Three BESS projects, representing a combined capacity of 325 MW/1220 MWh, have been submitted for approval in Australia under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. The submitted projects are the following:

  • A 55 MW/440 MWh BESS paired with a 75 MW PV power plant in Binningup, in Western Australia, submitted by Tonic Group;
  • The 120 MW/480 MWh Sunshine Estate BESS in New South Wales, submitted by Avenis Energy;
  • The 150 MW/300 MWh Muswellbrook battery storage site in New South Wales, submitted by AGL.
