TAQA and partners commission 2.4 GW CCGT project in Fujairah (UAE)

The Emirati electricity group EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company has announced the start of full commercial operations at the 2.4 GW Fujairah F3 Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in the Qidfa area of the Emirate of Fujairah (United Arab Emirates) (EWEC press release, 27/10/2025). 

The CCGT power plant was developed by a consortium including the Emirati companies TAQA (40%) and Mubadala Investment Company (20%), along with their Japanese partners Marubeni (20.4%), and Hokuriku Electric Power (19.6%), with EWEC being the sole procurer of electricity from the project, under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The power plant includes a JAC-class gas turbine technology from Mitsubishi Power, and is expected to power approximately 380,000 homes.
