The Indian company Sterlite Power has acquired Fatehgarh III Beawar Transmission Ltd, a subsidiary of PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), and will thus build, own, operate, and transfer the associated transmission project for a period of 35 years. The project involves the construction of a 350 km, 765 kV transmission line from Fatehgarh III to Beawar, in the Indian State of Rajasthan. It will enable the evacuation of 20 GW of renewable power from Renewable Energy Zones in Fatehgarh (9.1 GW), Bhadla (8 GW) and Ramgarh (2.9 GW).
Sterlite Power currently has a portfolio of 31 projects (completed, sold or under construction) covering approximately 15,000 km of transmission lines across India and Brazil. In July 2023, the company commissioned the 1 GW, 500 kV, 344 km Marituba transmission line in Brazil. In March 2023, it commissioned the 5 GW Lakadia-Vadodara electricity transmission project in India’s Gujarat.
