South Pars gas production should reach 630 mcm/d in March 2019 (Iran)

Iran's state-run Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) forecasts that the gas production of the South Pars offshore gas field will reach over 630 mcm/d by the end of March 2019, when all the project's remaining phases are completed. The current production level stands at 580 mcm/d and most of the phases are fully operational at the moment.

The South Pars / North Dome gas field is the largest in the world and is shared between Iran and Qatar. The Iranian asset is divided into 24 phases and about half of them have been completed in the last four years, doubling the production level from 280 mcm/d up to 580 mcm/d. Phases 1-10 are intended for domestic consumption and injection into Iranian oil fields, while gas from the other phases should be exported. In November 2018, the Chinese state-run oil and gas company CNPC replaced the French company Total on the South Pars field Phase 11 project (SP11) due to US sanctions against Iran.
