The Irish company Simply Blue Group has unveiled plans for two multi-GW floating offshore wind projects in Sweden. The 2 GW Skidbladner Floating Wind project will be located 100 km South-East of Stockholm and the 2.75 GW Herkules Floating Wind project will be set 60 km South-East of the island of Gotland. Simply Blue Group is working in collaboration with energy consultancy group Wind Sweden on both projects, and they jointly plan to develop a total of around 5 GW of offshore wind projects in Sweden. This announcement came only weeks after Simply Blue Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Spanish companies Proes Consultores (Amper Group) and FF New Energy Venture to explore floating wind opportunities in Spain and Portugal.
