Siemens wins 580 MW turbine order for OGGT project in Argentina

Siemens has received an order for the turnkey construction of the Guillermo Brown thermoelectric power plant in General Cerri, near Bahia Blanca, in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina). The customer is Fideicomiso Central Termoelectrica Guillermo Brown and the 580 MW project will be operated by AES. The core of the new power plant will consist of two SGT5-4000F gas turbines (295 MW of gross capacity). Together, they will have an electrical generating capacity of approximately 580 MW. The order volume, including power transmission, fuel supply solutions and a Full Service Maintenance contract for 10 years, amounts to approximately US$800m. Besides the turnkey construction of the plant Siemens will deliver two SGT5-4000F gas turbines and two SGen5-1000A generators in a simple cycle configuration. In addition, Siemens is also delivering the infrastructure works at the port to offload fuel, high-voltage transmission lines, switchyard, and fuel pipe lines for the power plant.
