Samsung C&T Renewable Energy Australia has submitted its Boro solar-plus-storage project in New South Wales for assessment under Australia’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (Australian government press release, 22/07/2026).
The project combines a 150 MW solar PV plant with a 250 MW/1 GWh BESS providing four hours of storage. The facility is planned on a 410 ha site located about 40 km south of Goulburn and 200 km south-west of Sydney. The solar plant and battery system is planned to share grid infrastructure, connecting to the 330 kV Transgrid transmission network and the broader National Electricity Market.
The Boro project is part of Samsung C&T’s growing Australian pipeline, following the recent submission of the 150 MW/600 MWh Comet Park BESS in New South Wales. According to the company, it is currently advancing multiple renewable and storage projects across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
